1) Add 700ml of Isopropyl Alcohol 90% Tropical Solution to a sanitized 1000ml STORAGE BOOTLE. LINK TO STORAGE BOTTLES HERE. You can purchase Isopropyl Alcohol at your local drug store. 90% Tropical Solution is commonly sold. The goal is to make the final percentage of Isopropyl Alcohol to be around 60%-70% to be an affective germ killer.
2) Add 40ml of Hydrogen Peroxide 3% Tropical Solution with a syringe. Eliminates any spores present.
3) Add 50ml of PROPYLENE GLYCOL. PG acts as a skin moisturizer since Isopropyl Alcohol can dry your skin.
4) Add 22ml (2.2%) of APPLE ORCHARD-FRAGRANCE OIL depending upon personal requirements, however do not exceed this amount. If using a different fragrance oil check the IRFA and SDS for the particular fragrance required.
IMPORTANT NOTE: If you prefer to use another fragrance oil on ScentDrop.ca make sure to check the SDS sheet (Safety Data Sheet) and IFRA (Certificate and Safe Use Levels) for max safe percentages, which can be found at the bottom of each description. You will need to readjust your Distilled Water and PG appropriately so that there will be enough skin moisturizer in final product.
5) Fill the storage bottle with 188ml with distilled water OR cooled boiled tap water.
6) Let sit for 72 hours to allow any spores to be destroyed. This is where the Hydrogen Peroxide does its magic.
7) Bottle as required.
Making your own hand sanitizer will save you over 50%-70% from purchasing at a retail location and allow you to customize with your favorite scent. To make a 500ml bottle simply cut the totals in half.
